Way Out West Media is a new production company based in Vancouver. The Company team is made up of Bobby Ferris and Leah Stipic. The latest venture for Way Out West Media is Heat TV in conjunction with the Abbotsford Heat AHL Team. It focuses on fan based segments and player profiles for the team website.

Way Out West Media Producer

Bob has over 6 years of broadcasting experience in TV and Radio. Currently, he is the host and producer of The Barnburner, featuring “the greasier side of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rhythm and Blues, and Country”, airing on CITR 101.9 FM in Vancouver. Before his flight out west to BC, Bob was an associate producer with Pyramid Productions and the fan-segment host of Flames TV in Calgary, airing on Sportsnet West. During his time with Pyramid, Bob was also a music videographer for Entertainment Beat airing on APTN and interviewed a variety of artists including the likes of Billy Talent, The New York Dolls, Sarah Harmer and My Chemical Romance.

Bob has also continued his love for working with live music by doing freelance production in Vancouver for Live Nation and House of Blues, including acting as MC for events at the Commodore Ballroom.

Leah Stipic

What Out West Media Director

Leah has been working as a freelance videographer for the past 8 years, both in Canada and the UK. She has recently completed a MA in Digital Film and Animation and was awarded a distinction from the London Metropolitan University in England.

While in the UK, Leah worked at Molinare, one of the most renowned post production facilities in London. She also freelanced on a range of projects including feature films, music videos, adverts, documentaries, corporate functions and short films.

The short film, “Darkest Before Dawn” was her directorial debut. The film has been submitted to the Cannes Film Festival taking place this May.
